Project: Pinwheel

Subject: Science/Spring Weather
Ages: 3-5

Make a pinwheel. Cut a square from colored paper and help the
child to decorate it. Fold the square along both diagonals. Trace
around a penny at the exact center of the square (where the two
diagonals meet). Cut along the diagonal folds to the edge of the
traced circle. Bend each alternate corner into the center. Push a
straight pin through the four corners and the center of the
circle, then into the eraser of a pencil. Blow your pinwheel and
watch it spin!

Project: Windsock
Subject: Science
Ages: 3-5

Make a paper windsock. Use a large piece of paper, 12" by 20".
Cut 8 streamers of paper, each 2" by 12". (or use crepe paper
strips). Glue these streamers to the bottom of the large piece of
paper. Bring the short edges of the paper around to form a
cylinder; glue or staple. Punch holes on opposite sides of the
cylinder and tie on a long piece of string or yarn.

Ages: 3-5

Make a spring collage. Go on a nature walk and collect flowers,
leaves and grasses etc. Glue onto paper to make a collage of
nature.
